The "Academy" (or MKA in Hungarian, founded in 2004) is an association of young Hungarian comickers. It holds several individuals "irrespectively of any political or ideological grounds" who feel the need to revive Hungarian comics. Through the short history of our association we tried to rejoin to the "lost" tradition of the classical Hungarian comics and illustration, and to the "golden age" (or adaptational) period of comics of the cold war era. Our members hold several expositions in Hungary and abroad, making lectures on the medium, doing "how to make comics" sessions for kids, and publish our periodical anthology, Pinkhell, which has six issues so far.
